Campeón del Siglo Stadium
Located in the heart of Bañados de Carrasco, Montevideo, Uruguay, the Campeón del Siglo stadium, home of Club Atlético Peñarol, proudly stands as an architectural icon of sport and community. The stadium has a seating capacity of 50,000, making it not only a sports facility but also a vibrant social meeting place.
The path to establish the visual identity was an intricate process. The logo, the cornerstone of this identity, found its inspiration in the shape of the stadium. A central building, around which the stands curve, creating a sense of embrace and subtly reflecting the strong sense of camaraderie inherent in the spirit of football.
Beyond the brand, every aspect of the building’s aesthetics was addressed. From artistic posters to distinctive signage, from photographic content to the smallest detail, every corner was designed with a single purpose: to make the fan feel at home. Additionally, the seats were cleverly designed to form a club emblem, reinforcing the team's identity in the heart of the spectator area.
One of the highlights of the design project was the typography used to adorn the stands. This typography was specifically developed for the project. The letters of the old headquarters created by the renowned architect Julio Vilamajó were the source of inspiration. This element adds a distinctive touch to the stadium that helps to preserve the club's rich history within the new structure.
